In 2017 the State of Illinois mandated physical fitness testing for students in  3rd – 12th  grade in order to ascertain the effectiveness of Goal 20 of the Illinois Learning Standards for physical development and health, which is to achieve and maintain a health-enhancing level of physical fitness based upon continual self-assessment.

The use of the Fitnessgram (or the Brockport Physical Fitness Testing for students with disabilities) will measure “aerobic capacity, body composition, muscular strength, muscular endurance and flexibility”.

District 205 will complete Fitnessgram testing in the Fall and the Spring of each year.
