We will be working with Fiction and Nonfiction texts this year.  Our main focus will be on learning to read fluently and attacking new words.  We will also focus on answering and asking questions as we read, as well as character response and lessons.

This year in math,  we will be working on many skills.  Skills we will cover include:  Making 10's, addition and subtraction strategies, word problems, arrays and measuring.

Writing will be incorporated into most curricular areas this year!  We will write narratives, opinion and informational pieces.  We will write in response to our reading.  We will even do some choice/FUN writing!

This year in science we will be discussing plants and animals and how they are important to our world.  We will also talk about our body and the digestive system.

In social studies, we will be learning about maps, continents and countries.  We will be talking about how we are all different and that is what makes each one of us special!
