Calling all Jackson Jaguars! GOBBLE your friends up with love this November, SURPRISE your friends by placing a Jackson Jaguars You've Been Gobbled sign in their yard! Let's have some fun this season and spread joy to our Jackson community.
HOW IT WORKS: Similar to "You've Been Booed" -- surprise your friends by placing "You've Been Gobbled" signs in their yards!
The first Jackson PTA Trek-A-Thon is underway! Registration opened Saturday and the amount of pledges already made is nothing short of fantastic. We would love to see even more of the Jackson community show their support and sign up. Bike, run and/or walk to earn miles towards your trek, which runs through November 7th. Ask your family and friends to donate per mile or make a flat donation to help with future classroom funding. See the attached flyer for more details and click this link to get registered!
Spirit wear has arrived! Because it came just as everyone was starting remote learning, it has been delivered to Sean Cullen’s house. Contact him to set up a time to pick up from his porch, or you can choose to have your order delivered to your doorstep by his two daughters, who are focused on pumping up their Trek-A-Thon earnings.
This year, the Scholastic Book Fair will be held online from November 6 through November 20. This replaces our usual in person book fair but just like years past, your purchases help us earn Scholastic dollars that are put towards free books for students and the school. A link to the Scholastic Book Fair will be distributed at the beginning of the event.
The sale runs through the week of November 18th so get your orders in soon. Order pickup will be the week of December 7th and details will be sent out prior to pick up. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Dena Fasheh or Kristie Szejner at email@example.com
Foundation 205's annual fall campaign will help D205 students grow, thrive and excel. Over its 25 year history, Foundation 205 has evolved to meet the current environment and needs of our students. Through the Community Response Fund, they provided $120,000 in emergency support for students and their families since March. Looking ahead, Foundation 205 has identified 3 main priorities and is asking for philanthropic support in these critical areas:
York senior scholarships in partnership with PTA Council Scholarship committee
Diverse and inclusive literature collections in collaboration with the Elmhurst Pride Collective
Mental health resources to expand the PTA Council's Thrive 205 Wellness Partnership.

The 42nd Annual UCCA Holiday Food Drive has gone virtual for 2020! The Drive will run from October 26 through December 1.
For more than 40 years, the Elmhurst Community has participated in the UCCA Holiday Food Drive to help Elmhurst District 205 schoolchildren and their families. This year will look a little different but the need is still great, if not greater than ever. We are helping almost 100 more families than last year. To ensure everyone’s safety, we are moving our efforts online. Instead of bringing food donations to school, you can go online and donate to sponsor a holiday meal, a box of food, or more.
It’s quick and easy. Go to www.uca-elmhurst.org/ucca-volunteers. Please give today so we can help struggling families put food on the table during these unprecedented times. We appreciate your gift in any amount. You may also drop off Jewel and Mariano’s gift cards at the Elmhurst YMCA and the Elmhurst Public Library.
A $16 Holiday Meal Box provides a complete holiday meal with turkey, potatoes, green beans, and more.
A $30 box of food provides a box of food filled with pantry staples.
Win/Win at McDonald’s
Come support the Jackson PTA on Thursday, October 15 from 4-8 PM at the Elmhurst McDonald’s, 190 E. Butterfield Road. We will receive 20% of all sales when you present a flyer or say you’re with Jackson when ordering at the drive-thru. There will also be a tip jar at the second window, allowing you to donate an additional cash amount or an apple pie. Flyers can be found with the PTA newsletter and we will also share them on our PTA and class year Facebook pages. Don’t forget to share them with friends, family, and neighbors! Funds earned will go toward startup costs for other fundraisers, with leftover funds supporting the Jackson students and staff.
