Jackson students planted and are caring for the Jackson School Giving Garden. Students have the opportunity to work in the garden during school hours and Jackson families will have the opportunity to care for the garden during the summer months. A portion of the harvest will be donated to the Yorkfield food pantry. Planting day was on Tuesday May, 14th.
The cookie exchange is an annual tradition where Jackson families bake cookies and desserts for teachers and staff, who then get to take home a box of delicious treats just before the holidays. Each volunteer is asked to provide at least 2 dozen cookies for the exchange, which will be on Friday, December 13th. Nuts are allowed in the treats.
For more details and to volunteer, please sign up here.
If you have any questions, contact Maria Flynn at email@example.com or Rachel Ostendorf at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks for your help!

A big thank you to Mrs. Henderson and all of the parent volunteers that made the Kids Heart Challenge (formerly known as Jump Rope for Heart) a big success! The jump rope readiness, eagerness, teamwork and encouragement witnessed throughout the day on March 21 was truly heart-warming. Plus, the kids rocked their crazy socks for World Down Syndrome day, so there was a lot of excitement!
In the days leading up to the Kids Heart Challenge day, students learned practical choices for healthy eating and drinking, being active, how their heart works and fun jump rope skills. Plus they were excited to reach out to friends and family to raise awareness of healthy choices, various heart conditions and the important work of the American Heart Association. Thank you to the Jackson community for raising
over $13,011 for AHA, just shy of our goal! Donations help AHA save and improve lives with research, education and emergency care. To view some of the day's action, follow @hendersond205pe on Instagram or this year's yearbook!

The yearbook deadline is fast approaching. Don't miss out! Order your child's yearbook before the deadline of April 19th. See the link for instructions on how to order. The yearbook team is in need of pictures so while you are finalizing your two personal pages, please take a look and see if you have pictures for the following events: Meet the Teacher - please send in pictures of your child meeting his new teacher this year for a fun page of excitement. Also highly needed are pictures of 5th grade talent show. Please send pictures by April 12th to Toni Milak at email@example.com or Mia Nevarez at firstname.lastname@example.org.
IMPORTANT! If you have already bought a yearbook, or plan to this week, please note that the background on the personalized pages CAN be modified. Right now, it is defaulting to a Monopoly theme, however the overall yearbook theme is "Kindness." If you choose to make this change to your personalized pages, you will need to login, take your book out of print and change it. If you do not mind that it does not match, then you do not have to change it. In past years, the yearbook would default to the yearbook theme, but this year it did not and we cannot go in a change the personalized pages.
