Dear Jackson Families,
It was wonderful to see so many of our families at our Parent Night. As a school, we truly value our partnership with you!
Our teachers have begun to conduct the Fountas and Pinnell Benchmark assessment with individual students. This will tell us information about your child’s reading fluency, comprehension, and reading behaviors. This data will be used to drive teacher instructional planning and support.
We hope you have a great long weekend!
Parent Night Follow-Up
If you missed our Principal/Assistant Principal presentations, you can view the information that was shared here. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us with any questions.
D205 Fall Open Plan
As cold season approaches, please refer to District 205’s re-open plan here, specifically, “Students do not have to self-certify each day. However, families are asked to commit to safe practices at school each day (i.e. not coming to school with COVID symptoms, quarantining when required, etc.).”
Picture Day- TUESDAY!
Our school picture day is Tuesday! Families will need to order pictures online either by prepaying or after pictures. Pre-orders will close at 8:00am on September 7. If you miss the preorder, you will have a chance to order pictures with your child's Ticket Code. When placing an order after Picture Day with a Ticket Code a shipping fee will be added on and picture packages will be shipped directly to the home. Ticket Codes will be delivered with the bulk picture package order approximately three weeks post Picture Day. You can view more information on this flier. We will have a make-up picture day on October 15, 2021.
Dismissal Car line-Keep Crosswalks Clear
If you are picking up your child in the parking lot car line, please be mindful of the crosswalks at the intersection of Van Buren and Swain. Do not block these crosswalks as our students and families use them to safely cross the street. We appreciate your cooperation!
Message from Mrs. Walton-Library
The Jackson Library would like to make its makerspace a little bigger this year. We are hoping that you may have some materials laying around your house that we will happily take off your hands.
Do you have any extra...
- 1) glue sticks?
- 2) scissors?
- 3) markers?
We are also looking to collect any paper towel/toilet paper cardboard tubes. These tubes are great for makerspace projects. If you have any of these materials, please send them to the Jackson Library! If you have any questions or would like to donate other makerspace type items, you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Lunch Menu For the Week of September 7
Please note that school lunches are free of charge for all students this year. Your child will need to order lunch each morning in their classroom. You can find next week's lunch menu here.
Reporting an Absence
If your child will be absent from school. Please remember to call the school attendance line at 630-617-2363. Please call any time before 8:15am to leave a message on the voicemail. If you do not call your child in absent before 8:15 am, we will be trying to contact you. Please attempt to schedule any appointments for your child outside of the school day to lessen absences. However, if you will need to pick up your child during the school day for an appointment, please call the office, send a note to the office, or email Jacki Lawrence (email@example.com) with the details so that we may arrange for this ahead of time.
Mrs. Jenna Kragel, our nurse, will be on maternity leave. Mariah Gasso and Rosanne Tansor will be covering our nurse position. If you need to contact the nurse for any reason, please use the following email address: firstname.lastname@example.org.
